Ignored this pattern from my stash for a long time — because it was 300 rounds — written out in Dutch! However, since working with Franciska Ruessink, I decided to take the opportunity to retrieve this one headed for the "dust bin of history". No pattern name was given, so "Romantic" was derived from the caption of the original photo; and, as before, Franciska’s done a wonderful job of knitting it.
To get an even better idea of how spectacular this pattern is, am including "close-ups" below. Also, when I started recharting it, I realized that it is very unlikely that it is a Niebling because of the unusual twist stitches employed, as can be seen in the Key To Symbols, a screenshot of which follows.
And finally, the original photo:

I just purchased Romantic. Love the pattern but as i was looking threw the charts and i found 2 charators with no definition. The 3 in the v and the solid square. From your other patterns i assume knit 1 is a square. And from this pattern i am guessing the 3 in the v is a knit 1. Knit 1 threw back loop. And a knit 1? Please let me know if i am right or if it is different. Thanks for all your work in converting patterns into different languages.

Jennifer,
You are correct. Thanks for the heads up. Will resend you the addition to the Key to symbols in a day or so. Am so looking forward to seeing your finished cloth.

Thank you for your quick reply. I plan on making a shawl using half the pattern knitting back and forth not in the round. I’ll let you know how it goes.
